Sidhant Verma

I am a Plant Pathologist hailing from Theog, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. My work primarily focuses on Plant Pathology, orchard management, and forestry.

Academic Background

I completed my early education at Himalayan Public School, Theog, and my secondary education at SD Sr. Sec. School, Shimla in 2019.

I then pursued my Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons. in Forestry and MSc. (Agri) Plant Pathology from Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry. My academic focus bridges the gap between traditional agricultural practices and modern management.

Research and Practical Experience

I combine academic research with hands-on horticultural management and modern forestry:

  • Agricultural Economics Research: I have conducted a comprehensive economic analysis of a dairy farm, focusing specifically on demand, input costs, and return on investment.
  • Orchard Management: I am actively managing an apple orchard, specializing in the cultivation and crop management of Spur and Gala apple varieties on seedling rootstocks. I am also currently working on a new spur-based red-fleshed apple variety named Red celeste.

Early Career & Awards

  • Tata Building India Essay Competition (2016): Awarded as the district winner for Shimla, receiving recognition from the Vice Chancellor of Panjab University.
